Speech Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Psychoeducation in the West Island of Montreal, Quebec.
The goal of speech therapy is to enhance all areas of communication, including expression (vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure), comprehension (understanding), articulation (sound production), fluency, voice, and social language skills (pragmatics). It also supports written communication skills like reading and writing. Each speech therapy program is personalized to match the unique strengths and needs of each child or individual.
Effective communication is so important to all aspects of human functioning specifically in learning and social interaction. The objective of speech therapy is to improve all aspects of communication.
Occupational Therapy is a health service focused on helping individuals engage in meaningful activities, or “occupations,” that bring purpose to their lives. If a person’s ability to carry out daily tasks—such as self-care, work, school, play, learning, and independent living—is affected by illness, injury, or disability, occupational therapy can provide valuable support.
Our goal is to help kids be as independent as possible in their tasks they want to, need to, or are expected to do in their everyday lives.
Psychoeducation equips children with tools to build positive social behaviors, manage negative behaviors (e.g., hitting, biting), navigate transitions, and improve focus. It fosters independence in skills like dressing, toileting, and eating, while promoting variety in foods and social interactions. Psychoeducation also adapts environments to meet individual needs, teaches self-regulation for managing emotions, and addresses fears like separation. It provides daycare staff and parents with effective behavioral strategies and strengthens communication across settings.
Whether for you, your child, your family or a loved one. Our team is able to provide you with psychoeducational services if your child is experiencing difficulties.
